6F2 Capping delivered in Birmingham
6F2 is a coarse recycled capping fill graded 0–125 mm, the most widely used capping material on UK earthworks. It builds a stable working platform over soft formations quickly and cheaply, and is the usual first import onto a site once the muckshift is under way.
Into Birmingham and across West Midlands we supply it loose by tipper, by grab lorry where a stockpile has to be loaded or reached over a boundary, or in bulk bags for plots a lorry can't discharge into. Tipper and grab loads available across the West Midlands within 24–48 hours. Direct quarry haulage from the Midlands stone belt keeps loads efficient on bulk orders, and grab collections are timed around delivery slots for two-way running.

Our Birmingham customer base is heavily weighted toward civils and highways — Type 1 sub-base, 6F5 capping and certified pipe bedding make up the bulk of weekly volumes — with muckaway and WAC testing on the excavation side of the same jobs.
What shapes 6F2 Capping supply in Birmingham
Variable fill on highways and civils packages is exactly why 6F2 Capping moves in volume around Birmingham — it builds a working platform that takes plant and lorry traffic before any sub-base goes down. Highway working with lane closures and phased offloads decide whether it arrives by tipper, grab or bulk bag. Where the same site is also producing excavation arisings tested alongside the same civils packages they come from, we plan the removal and the delivery together so the lorry is not running one leg empty. The same routes serve Solihull, Wolverhampton and Coventry.
Questions we get asked
Is 6F2 the same as crusher run or hardcore?
They overlap in practice but are not interchangeable on paper. 6F2 is a specified capping grading under Clause 613 with defined limits, whereas 'hardcore' is a generic term. If your spec names 6F2, order 6F2 and we'll supply the supporting data.
Can 6F2 be used as a sub-base?
No — 6F2 is a capping material. For sub-base use MOT Type 1 to Clause 803, or recycled Type 1 where secondary aggregate is permitted.
Do you cover the wider West Midlands?
Yes — Birmingham, Solihull, Wolverhampton, Coventry, Dudley, Walsall and West Bromwich are all served from our Midlands haulage network.
Material out as well as in, around Birmingham
Most deliveries into Birmingham pair with a removal: the lorry takes your arisings to a licensed facility and comes back loaded, so you pay for one movement rather than two.
